Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit and it is the perfect city for a Bachelorette weekend. It was one of the first places that came to mind for my girls weekend and with the chilly February temps, most other places within driving distance would be too cold. My sister Taylor planned the best weekend with a perfect mixture of scheduled plans and free time!
From the sweet pictures of Tyler and I to the hysterical drinking buddies that went with us everywhere, I truly felt so loved and celebrated by my favorite girls from the moment we got there. Our rental was right off of King Street with plenty of space for all of us and a great rooftop with views of downtown.
Our first stop in the morning was to the local blow dry bar before we headed to Candlefish for our candle making class.
A Candlefish workshop was one of my sole requests for the weekend and it did not disappoint. The store is stunning and there are so many scents to choose from. The chandler (name for a candle maker) asks everyone to list their favorite scents so that they can best pull from their hundreds of options. You get to make two candles in the same scent but most of us ended up trading one scent with each other! The candles have to sit overnight to harden so be sure to take that into consideration when signing up for the workshop.
The Southeastern Wildlife Expo was in town the same weekend and there were so many dogs in town for the dock diving competition… So naturally, I made sure we found our way to the expo to watch some of the dives and figure out how I could convince my lazy newfie that she could be the next dock diving champion. 🙂
We spent the afternoon meandering around the always beautiful streets downtown and were able to take some pictures down on the battery at sunset. Love these sweet friends of mine!
Before our big night out on Saturday, we all took full advantage of the photo wall my girls had set up. Oh yes, and those big head cut outs came with us everywhere all weekend. Tay planned this evening to a T and it was filled with some of my favorite places. Our first stop was Minero for tacos and sangria, followed by The Gin Joint for after dinner drinks, and last but not least, Carmella’s for dessert. Don’t be fooled, we were most definitely out wayyy past our bedtimes when we made our way back to our rental close to 2 am…
Needless to say we had a slow Sunday morning by heading to Isle of Palms for a relaxing brunch and some ocean waves. So thankful for each of these dear friends and what they mean to me. One of my girls could not make it as she was saving the world at at conference in Finland for her job. Why yes, my friends are the coolest, thank you!
