The morning of our wedding in Southport was everything I had prayed for – intentional, filled with loved ones, as slow as we could make it, and of course, stunningly beautiful. My girls and I spent the morning slowly getting ready while the guys went out to a shooting range.
I knew how fast the day would go by even if I was intentional about taking it all in so I took a few moments to myself in the morning. I sat on the beautiful upper porch of the Cape Fear House and prayed over our marriage, wrote a letter to my groom and a letter to my little brother who was away in Newport at OCS.
Tyler and I chose to do a first look as we both really wanted to spend the moments after our ceremony together rather than taking all of the formal family portraits and I did not want to spend our wedding day hiding from my groom. We were both so happy with this decision as it gave us more time alone together and with our guests after the ceremony.
