After I decided on the venue for our wedding ceremony, I started building the design aesthetics around the atmosphere of the church ruins of Brunswick Town. With our venue’s exposed brick and Spanish moss covered oaks, rich darker colors seemed to match the cozy and intimate feel I desired for our wedding.
I have always been drawn to colors that would be labeled as “fall” rather than spring time pastels. Throughout the wedding planning process, I would add images that reflected a decision made to an InDesign file. This way I could visually see my design decisions coming together and make sure they were remaining cohesive with the overall vision.
I designed our wedding crest around the historic feel of our venue as well as our color palette of burgundy and greens. I wanted a crest to be able to include on a variety of different pieces so that our guests would be able to subtly notice them throughout our wedding weekend from the invitation to the directional signs. This is essentially “branding” for your wedding that sets it apart from solely having your names on everything.
